Key Client DataThe information is listed below for each case, in order of the case's confidential Client ID. Client ID. Your confidential Client ID appears on your engagement letter with me. If you've misplaced your engagement letter, look near the bottom of the complaint we prepared for your case. Just above the words "Hold Service, Please," you'll see my phone number, (205) 979-6960. Just to the right of the phone number, you'll see "CID" and your Client ID number. You'll also find your Client ID number just below the words "Civil Action No." on the first page of the Agreement you signed. If you have paid for my services with a credit card and I have an e-mail address on file for you, you will see the CID on the receipt I send you. Sent to Court? Self explanatory. I'll change this value to "Yes" for your case when I have received all the documents and the filing fee and have prepared it for filing. Once this column shows "Yes" for your case, you can know your case will be filed within a few days later. And of course, when it's filed, I'll be posting the Case Number and the Date Filed so you can check that as well. If you're the kind of person who carefully measures how long it takes from the time I send your documents to the court until I receive your filed-in documents and post your case number here (and I know from experience that some of you do exactly that!), expect your case number to be posted within about a month after I send it to the court. As a practical matter, if your filing fee is to be charged to your Visa or Mastercard and you've given me your e-mail address, you'll get word immediately when I process your filing, because you'll get e-mail confirmation of the credit card charge. Delay Reason. If your case is delayed, I'll briefly list the reason for the delay here. Date Filed. The date on which your complaint was filed with the court. Unless we intentionally delay your case (e.g., for approval of a QDRO or for one of you to use health insurance), you're entitled to assume your your divorce will be effective within about six weeks of the filing date. Case Number. The number the court assigns to your case when they file in the complaint. The "DR" stands for "Domestic Relations." The four digits after the "DR" are the year in which your complaint was filed, and the last three digits are the sequential number of your case in Talladega County.t Date Decree Sent. The court will send both copies of the Final Judgment to me. As soon as I receive them, I will send them to you and to your spouse in the mail, using the addresses you gave me. Unless you have updated your address with me, the addresses on file for you and your spouse are the ones shown on page 1 of your draft complaint. I will show in this column the date on which I send out the letter to the two of you.
